I so enjoy watching the birth of kittens. With the Bengals, you never know what you are going to get. Not just the obvious of male or female, but marble or spotted, brown, blue, snow, etc. With this particular litter, I was hoping for a nice snow or two. I wasn't being picky if they were male or female, marbled or spotted. Well, I got 4 brown marble kittens! There were 3 girls and 1 boy. The lightest pattern of the 4 kittens caught my eye. I named them after the season they looked like. The darkest kitten was Winter, the medium color was Autumn, the lightest is Summer, and the lonely boy was Stormin Norman. There comes a kitten from time to time that pulls the strings of your heart more than the others, and Summer did that to mine. I found wonderful homes for Summer's siblings, and she was the last one. Ah, it was destiny! She was to remain with me, and let me have 3 generations of females. Star, Diamond and Summer are all here with me. Summer has had 2 litters of sweet spotted babies, and I am hoping for many more to come. She is a great mom, and I love to play with her babies. Summer is a sweet addition to my feline family. * * * * * 8.14.03 Good Bye to Summer... With a heavy heart, I must say good bye to my sweet and wonderful girl, Summer Breeze. It has taken me quite a while to be able to write this. January 2003, Summer Breeze went over the Rainbow Bridge to join Dulari, and be with God. It breaks my heart to have lost her at such an early age. She was beautiful, sweet, and her final days were hard to watch. I had to make the hardest decision of my life of having her put down. There isn't a day that has gone by that I haven't wished she would walk through any door and talk to me. I see her sweet face in Teonna, and I know Summer will live on through her daughter. Summer, I love you my sweet girl. I hope you are happy in Heaven, and you are playing like I have seen you do so many times. Mommy loves you.
