I tell you folks, I think this story of how we got Silhouette, or Silly as we call her, is just endearing. Of course, as fate may have it, this Silly story is due to 2 people helping each other out. We sold a female to a mother and daughter a few years ago, and they wanted to have 1 litter. We were to get the litter of kittens as part of the sale. I was at a cat show in Reno, NV when the mom went into labor, and the mom and daughter rushed the mamma kitty here for my husband to deliver the kittens (2 beautiful snow babies). Wouldn't you know, mom had no milk. Dry as a bone. I think there were other complications as well, and we tried our best to bottle feed the babies. No replacement for a feline mom though. My friend, Pam, had a mamma kitty who had a litter and was able to have us bring the kittens to her. One of the kittens started to fail, despite Pam's efforts of taking it to the cat specialist. It passed away in Pam's hands. Oh what a heart ache to have that happen. The other little baby was thriving, and was really a beautiful kitten. A week later, one of Pam's girls had 3 kittens with only enough milk for 2. I had a female who had a litter of 6, but only 1 live kitten. Looked like a match made in heaven. They brought this tiny little brown marble girl, and we put her with Nyla (who now lives with a very special friend). Like a duck to water, they all accepted each other. As Silly grew, I just fell in love with her. Her sweet face, beautiful coat and pattern, and the personality that could make even the grumpiest of people smile. Pam had a buyer for the snow, and I really wanted Silhouette. We made the trade. Silhouette has sold many kittens for us, by jumping from the floor into a prospective buyers arms. They would be shocked that such a small girl could be so athletic. Let me tell you, she still does that trick! Silly has had only 1 litter so far, but we are expecting more and greater babies from her. With her good looks and super personality, we just can't lose!
