I was thinking about retiring Star from breeding (how very silly of me). My friend had 4 litters of kittens, and I happened to eye this little roufus (orange) rosetted girl, and even her brother. What a face and personality she had. My husband came out at a later time than me, and picked Mandy out of all the kittens that were there. How absolutely convenient! We agreed on a kitten. She was too young to go home with us yet, but we did purchase her. I thought of the name Mandalae, and of course, my husband just hated it. What kind of a name was that?! A pretty name I thought. He would make up silly rhyming names to call her, but after a bit of time, he did get use to her name. Comes the day to bring this little person home. I can't hardly wait! As always, the car ride home, the kitten is cuddling with me on my lap. Lots of bonding going on here. We get this little whisp of a kitten in the house, and she proceeds to go up to Camille (the mouth), and have a screaming match! It was one of the funniest things I have ever heard. This little kitten MEOWING at the top of her lungs with Camille at the top of her lungs. Mandy actually held her own over that contest. Then Mandy proceeded to back down every cat in the house. Ah yes, a match made in heaven! These days, Mandy is producing some sweet babies. She still has the mouth, and she knows how to use it very well. She never liked the show life, although, she is nice enough to be a show quality cat. Enjoyment for the cat to be shown is more important than having lots of titles for a cat who hates being there.
