There are times you really love to be a breeder, and there are times it is really hard.  You can lose a litter, lose a mom, or just have great luck with everything going as it should. 

With that in mind, Windsong (half sister to my sweet Dulari), started having her kittens.  She took a long time to deliver each one, and I was starting to flash back to Dulari's delivery (and subsequent death).  I was in a panic, and called the cat specialist.  You need to understand that he is 1 1/2 hours from my house.  Yes, they could see Windy, but I had to be there before 1:00, because the office closed early.  I also had to be to work by 3:00pm.  I packed up the 3 kittens she already had, and Windy.  I had on NO make-up on, and my hair wasn't curled either.  I did have, however, my work clothes on.  Gee, I was smart!  We started for the Vet's office, and while on the freeway, I heard a good pushing noise.  I pulled over on the freeway, and looked in the carrier.  There was this fat chubby kitten still attached to the cord.  I quickly unattached him, and put him with his siblings.  Meanwhile, I'm talking to Windy about how she was going to be fine, and the doctor would make sure she and her babies were going to be o.k.

We make it to the vet's office in less than an hour.  Please don't tell any one I was speeding, okay?  The doctor checked every one out, and he just gave Windy some stuff to boost her energy level.  The kittens were all fine and healthy.  Can we say, "Whew!"?  She was done with delivering her litter, and we were all packed up and driving back home so I could go to work.  I made it back, but only as far as work.  I didn't have time to go home and then to work.  Do you remember I said I didn't have any make-up, and my hair wasn't curled?  I worked a 5 hour shift looking like death!  My daughter came and picked up mom and babies from work, and took them home.

Well, out of these 4 fat and sassy kittens, there was this really beautiful boy.  He was showing centered rosettes at 1 day old!  Most impressive to watch him grow and develop.  He will have a nice show career, and I can't wait until he goes out for the first time.  He is very sweet, and is the dominant kitten in his litter.  I know he will love to be with the ladies when he is old enough too!  We will keep his story updated as he grows.
