Aleija's Cat Tale

Little Miss Aleija, was a replacement kitten for another cat I had bought that ended up with a genetic defect. It was wonderful that the breeder replaced the cat. I was patient to find the perfect kitten, and I wasn't in any hurry.

I heard that there was a litter of 3 girls, and the parents had the elusive whitted belly. Ooh, that would be nice to add to my genetics pool. 1 kitten was already bought and paid for, and the other 2 were still "up for grabs". I had my eye on this beautiful rosetted girl. Nice head, great contrast in her markings, even though they were smaller than I wanted. She was too small to go home yet, so I had to leave her there. Sniff.

Finally, she was ready to go home. I had thought about names, and I had heard the name Aleija many years ago in a movie. Can't remember which one, but the name stuck with me. I know there is a singer that recently died with the same name, but truthfully, I'd never heard of her.

Aleija fit right in with the other cats here at Desertstar. She isn't a flashy show cat, but rather more of a breeder. She just gets more and more beautiful each day, and gets sweeter too. She loves to talk when I call her name.

I look forward to the day when I can breed her to that perfect male, and see if we can get a litter of kittens with a white tummy.

pawprint With warmest of spotted bellies!
