Arcadia Show Report

Good morning everyone!

There were some pretty awesome cats being shown this past weekend. If I would just remember to wear larger clothes, I could stuff a few down my shirt! (Not so funny after hearing about the recent thefts). I was showing in the adult class, and we were represented as follows: Asahi Genji Jr., owner - Doug and Junko Neibauer; Jumanji Lightning Strikes, owner - Juli Burnett & Janice Tyler; Jungletrax Torchlit Path, owner - Arden Morley; Elitebengals Cruse of Starbengals, owner - Earl Shropshire.....that was the Brown Spotted Division..Joykatz Saiph of Desertstar , owner - me..the wonderful person who is reporting this show...; Bengoria Clamity Jane, owner - Mark Spitler...that was the Brown Marble Division...Marble Rose Israel, owner - Annette & Robert Sanchez...Seal Sepia Spotted Division...Wildvision Komet, owner - Barbara & Tom Quiring...Seal Mink Spotted Division..Catitude Snow Flurry, owner - John & Virginia Murtlow...Seal Marble Lynx Division...

It was a small adult class, but all the cats were worthy of the Best of Breed. How the judges were able to pick one over the other, was beyond me..okay, much is beyond me at this point! The rosettes went to: Asahi Genji (who made Champion at this show), Jumangi Lightning Stikes, Elitebengals Cruise Of Starbengals, Joykatz Saiph of Desertstar (who made me a very happy person becoming a Grand Champion...and almost 6 years old!), Bengoria Clamity Jane (who made Champion at this show, and will now be retired for breeding), and Wildvision Komet (made Champion at this show). As you can see, we had lots of cats become Champions.

There were lots of kittens being shown this weekend! We were represented by: Elitebengals Pending, owner - Juan & Maribel Gonzalez; Elitebengals Tapout, owner - Juan & Maribel Gonzalez; Dreamland Fireball, owner - Chuck & Connie Pealer; Koppikatz Twilight of Dreamland, owner - Chuck & Connie Pealer; Wildvision Detomaso of Goldenmagi, owner - Pam Sharp; Chimeracats Micster Mantle, owner - TL Kamaunu; Mainstreet's Budding Rose Ette, owner - Debbie & Rick Corns; Miss Jesse of Sure Fire, owner - Lora Honikel; Lavonastribaliuv Glittering Warrior, owner - LaVona Nelson; Wildvision Buckshot, owner - Barbara & Tom Quiring; Wildvision Kalamity, owner - Barbara & Tom Quiring; Wildvision Korporal, owner - Barbara & Tom Quiring; Merkaba Shining Star, owner - Juli Burnett; Dawnstar Rude Awakening, owner - Anita Klinger; Kingsmark Hallian, owner - Karen Sausman; Wildgold's Kayla, owner - Canie Brooks...that was the Brown Spotted Division...Goldenmagi King Cheetah, owner - Pam Sharp; Kitten, owner - LaVonna Nelson; Merkaba Clouded Jag, owner - Julie Burnett & Billy Hudson; Dawnstar Wildest Dreams, owner - Anita Klinger; Desertstar's Daisy (my grand kitty and daughter of my boy Saiph), owner - Gary Jesse...that was the Brown Marble Division.

You can't believe the stunning kittens that were shown. I'm sure I am missing some of who got rosettes here, but here goes....Mainstreet's Budding Rose Ette (who must be related to Houdini, as she came close to escaping in almost every ring), Goldenmagi King Cheetah, Dawnstar Wildest Dreams, one of the kittens from Elitebengals (not sure which), and one of the kittens from Merkaba (again, not sure which one).

A special note...

Juan and Maribel Gonzalez started an annual award in Tom Sharp's (GoldenMagi Bengals) memory for the best Brown Spotted cat at the show. The breeders got to vote for the cat we thought was the best, and Earl Shropshire won with Elitebengals Cruise of Starbengal. The award will be given at this show every year. Just when I thought I could stop crying over the loss of Tom (but I was the only person who could call him Pa..long story), it brought the back bittersweet tears again. Not only was Tom my mentor and friend, he was family. He and Pam opened up their house and hearts to me the first time I went to purchase my very first Bengal. There was a special connection with them from the very beginning, and has grown and deepened ever since. We were, and are family of the soul, even we aren't related by blood. There aren't that many people you can meet in your life time that you can feel that way about, and what a rare and special gift I have received. I know Tom is looking down from heaven smiling at us all.

pawprint With warmest of spotted bellies!
