9.26.05 What a weekend. Where Texas was evacuating their homes, we were having a great time. Almost made us all in California feel guilty. I am so glad that every one is back home, and you are all safe. If this show was any indication of what On Safari will be like, watch out Bengal world! Some of the most amazing cats and kittens I have ever seen! I really felt sorry for the judges at this show trying to pick out any of these babies over the others. Now my bragging for my kids. Even though they didn't receive any finals, I was very proud of them. Cairo was at his first show this weekend and for being 1 year old, he was a bit on the unsure side of wanting to be there. He hasn't sprayed at home . . .yet, and there was a lovely girl next to him Sunday who was in a raging heat. After that, he sprayed in the judging cage, and was calling for all the young ladies at the show. He received a couple color placings on Sunday. I did pull him from the last 3 rings on Saturday, as he was hissing at me when I took him up to the rings. I think the rest of that day helped him to realize that he was okay there, and it really isn't a bad place to be. Reflection received color placings and one 3rd of division. He is such a sweet boy, and this is his last kitten show. Next month he will be an adult. He is a beautiful marble with vibrant colors. Kiyama is still the clown of the ring. This was her first adult show, and she is still pretty tiny. She charms the judges by her purring on the table, and wanting to be loved. Her silky coat and tons of glitter don't hurt either. She received her color placing, and a couple 2nd of division. I am looking forward to being at On Safari next month. If the cats and kittens at this show are any indication of what to expect next month, wow! I'll have to plan to wear one of those large jackets with lots of inside pockets! There's always room for one more kitten here! Thanks again to all the breeders who attended this show, and for sharing your stunning babies with us all. It is always a joy and privilege to be a part of this wonderful breed!
