2.23.04 Good morning one and all. After a much needed night of sleep, I think I can write this report and not make too many mistakes. It was a very wet weekend here in Southern California, and there was a great showing of Bengals despite the rain. So many beautiful cats and kittens, and it was great to see every one! I was only showing in the adult class this time, so I had lots of time to spend with my fur kid. The adult class was represented by: Dawnstar Fun at the Fair, owner - Anita Klinger; Kittycate Action Jackson, owner - Cheri Carpe; Joykatz Saiph of Desertstar, owner - the one and only (thank goodness) ME!. . . Brown Marble Division. . . Dreamland Salsa of Bengalxpress, owner - Rhonda Hauffe; Camelottaspots Flaming Torch, owner - Arden Morley; Elitebengals Don Juan, owner - Karen Bishop (agent Juan Gonzalez); Wildvision Nala, owner - Glenn Piccininno; Dreamland Goliath, owner - Chuck & Connie Pealer; Kutabays B B King, owner - Natalie Sullivan; Awagati's Night Vision of Calcatta, owner - Christina Dahleen/G. Sitler; Goldenmagi Going to California, owner - T.L. Kamaunu; Wildgold Athena, owner - Canie Brooks; Silveredrose Abram, owner - Annette Sanchez; Mainstreet Special Effects, owner - Debbie & Rick Corns; Millwood Red Hot Amber, Owner Cheri Carpe/Linda Arnett; Kutabays Janis Joplin, owner - Natalie Sullivan. . . Brown Spotted Division. . . Catatude's Icy Comet, owner - John & Virginia Murtlow; Kutabays Etta James, owner - Natalie Sullivan; Wildvision Shasta Mae, owner - Barbara & Tom Quiring. . . Seal Mink Spotted Division. . . BengalexoticFX I'm Just a Kid, owner - Randi Johnson. . . Seal Spotted Lynx Division. . . The rosettes went to (in no particular order or amounts): Dreamland Goliath, Elitebengals Don Juan, Goldenmagi Going to California, Wildvision Nala, Mainstreet Special Effects, and Kittycate Action Jackson. I must make mention on a couple of these finals. First, Debbie Corns didn't expect her beautiful boy to get any finals, so I told her I'd be more than happy to take it for her. I can't understand why she just laughed at me. The second one is to congratulate Saiph's marble competition Action Jackson who became a Grand Champion at this show. He is a beautiful and sweet boy, and Cheri and I have a great time at the show with our boys. The kitten class was represented by: Wildgold Braveheart, owner - Canie Brooks; Sherwood Tiger Lily, owner - Sheryl Gerckens. . . Brown Marble Division. . . Calcatta's Kenya of Kalika, owner - Pearl Islas; Mainstreet Victoria Secret, owner - Debbie & Rick Corns; Wildvision Abigail Rose, owner - Tom & Diana Norris; Dawnstar Circ Du Soleil, owner - Anita Klinger; Wildvision Kutlass, owner - Barbara & Tom Quiring; Dawnstar Black Jack, owner - Anita Klinger. . . Brown Spotted Division. The rosettes went to (in no particular order or amounts): Dawnstar Black Jack, Wildvision Kutlass and Calcatta's Kenya of Kalika. I would like to make special mention to Anita's boy, Black Jack. He received a final Saturday, however, Anita left a tad early because of the bad weather to make her drive home for the night. I was nice and put the rosette on his cage, and I did tell Anita that she owes me that rosette since she didn't stick around to get it. Yes, I was up to my old self this weekend. Her boy did very well at this show, and Anita was beaming from ear to ear with pride. It was also nice to have Anita showing this weekend, as she took quite some time off from the shows. Now for my bragging rights. Saiph didn't win any rosettes, but it doesn't matter. I have the greatest time with him at the shows, win or not. He loves being at the shows, and the special time we get is priceless. I can't figure out why people think he is so spoiled. He gets his jar of beef baby food, and I hold him like a baby in my arms. He purrs and makes bread, and I'm in heaven. I would like to congratulate all the cats and kittens that were at the show. Each and every one were spectacular and any one of them could (and should) have gone home with all the rosettes. Every one should be proud of their babies, and proud of the job they are doing with the breed. Until next month!
