2.20.05 Hello from drenched sunny southern California! Who ever said it didn't rain out here?! It was so bad at my house on Saturday, I elected not to try and make the journey. I did, however, make it today. Not too bad of a drive going down, but a real down pour coming home. It was a nice to get out of the house, and far away from work. It was great to see all the breeders who were also nutty enough to brave the nasty freeways and show off their beautiful babies. Lots of stunningly gorgeous cats and kittens, and I really don't see how the judges were able to make a choice. The adults were represented by: Dreamland Extravagance, owner - Chuck & Connie Pealer; Dreamland Ramblin Rose, owner - Chuck & Connie Pealer; Dreamland Sabrina of the Realms, owner - Chuck Pealer & Don & Lydia Wright; Bengalxpress Ciniron, owner - Rhonda Hauffe; Desertbengals Roulette of Calcatta, owner - Christina Dahleen; Silveredrose Aiyana of Goldenmagi, owner - Pam Sharp; Silvergene Stunner, owner - Linda Evans; Kutabays Rolling Stone, owner - Natalie Sullivan; Belara Ducati of Summermist, owner - Sheila & John Fowler; Millwood Samurai Diva, owner - Sue-Z Estes; Wildvision Matinee Idol, owner - Tom & Barbara Quiring. . . My little Calcutta was still the smallest girl in the ring, and this was also her first adult show. All in all she did not do too badly. She received a 2nd in color and 3rd in division in one ring, and a 3rd in color in another. Because she is so small, normally she will take last place in color. Actually, that's okay. She was a good girl, and it was fun to have her with me today. My Blue Marble boy, Cobalt, was the only new trait baby there. He is a stunning boy, with the same personality of Saiph. He is my sweet boy and the judges seem to like him. If he was in the championship judging, he could stand his own. It was fun to be there this weekend where Jeff and Heather Roberts did their first show as official TICA judges. Even with the additional New Trait cats that were put in the judging cages (one was a stuffed cat, one was a cat toilet seat cover, and the last was a stuffed frog), they both did exceptionally well. I would like to thank all the breeders who were at the show this weekend for sharing their beautiful babies with us all. It is just a thrill to be a part of this wonderful breed of cats. Thanks for letting me be a part of this group!
