Arcadia Show Report

Hello one and all!

This is Jan Deady back at Barbara and Tom Quiring's house using their computer to do this show report. I am still not in a permanent place to live, therefore, no computer of my own.

The Arcadia show was really nice, and as usual, the competition was tremendous. I had a great time seeing all the wonderful cats, and visiting with their owners too. We missed not seeing a few of the regular exhibitors, maybe we'll see them in April back in Arcadia.

I was showing in the adult class, and there were some pretty spectacular babies being shown. They were represented by: Bengoria Stetson of Dreamland, owner - Chuck & Connie Pealer; Dawnstar Heart and Soul, owner - Anita Kinger; Joykatz Saiph of Desertstar, owner - the wonderful person who is writing this show report... Jan Deady... that was the Brown Marble division... Latedakats Stoli of Dreamland, owner - Chuck & Connie Pealer; Whillows Dot Matrix, owner - Barbara Wagner; Bengalexpress Sierra, owner - Rhonda Hauffe Goldenmagi Africa of Elitebengals, owner - Juan & Maribel Gonzalez; Mainstreet Dakota, owner - Debbie Corns; Avondell Thunderpaws, owner - Linda Enger & Terry Thistlewaite; Goldenmagi Kenya of Elitebengals - owner, Juan & Maribel Gonzales... that was the Brown Spotted division. Goldenmagi Coupe Ivorie, owner - Pam Sharp... Seal Mink Marble division... Goldenmagi Sundance of Wildvision, owner - Barbara Quiring... Seal Mink Spotted division... The rosettes went to (but not necessarily all the rosettes), Latedakats Stoli of Dreamland Goldenmagi Africa of Elitebengals, Mainstreet Dakota, Goldenmagi Kenya of Elitebengals, and Joykatz Saiph of Desertstar. I would like to brag just a bit on Saiph. He was the oldest cat being shown, at 5 years and 1 month old. It says quite a bit for him, as first he can hold his own in the show ring with the "newer" and "updated" Bengals; and second, his temperament is fantastic. There isn't a human he doesn't like. He wasn't the biggest boy being shown, but he is certainly a classic with the tiny ears, beautiful marble pattern, and the vibrant colors he has.

The kittens were represented by: Bengalpine Golden Boy, owner - Cherie Johnston; Wildvision Hope of Goldenmagi, owner - Pam Sharp... Brown Marble division... Starbengal Rose of Marble Rose, owner - Annette Shanchez; Dreamland Salsa of Bengalexpress, owner - Rhonda Hauffe; Dreamland Medallion, owner - Chuck & Connie Pealer; Mainstreet Main Attraction, owner - Debbie Corns; Wildvision Spirit, owner - Barbara Quiring; Mainstreet Zena Summermist, owner - Sheila & John Fowler; Dreamland Illusion, owner - Chuck & Connie Pealer... Brown Spotted division... Wildgold's Nala, owner - Canie Brooks; Silvergene Chianna, owner - Rick Palmer & Linda Evans... Seal Lynx Spotted division... Catatude Icy Blue, owner - Virginia Murtlow... Seal Marbled Lynx division... The rosettes went to (but not necessarily all the rosettes), Dreamland Salsa of Bengalexpress, Starbengal Rose of Marble Rose, Mainstreet Main Attraction and Dreamland Illusion.

I have one more little brag. At last months show in Arcadia, I showed my beautiful brown marble girl, Painted Lady. I didn't think she had a chance for a final, and I left the show on Sunday. I knew that was Lady's last show, as she was getting close to her breeding career. Well, when I got to the show this past Saturday, Chuck Pealer told me he had some thing for me. I asked if Connie knew about this, and was it okay with her. He said yes to both! Wow!!!! He told me that Alice Rhea gave Lady a 4th best cat! That made Painted Lady a Champion!!!!! What a way to end her short show career. Needless to say, I was very please and proud of my sweet girl.

I don't know how the judges can pick just one Bengal as "Best of Breed". Each and every one of these Bengal babies that were being shown could and should have been Best of Breed. I'll have to remember to bring a larger purse to the next show, so I can bring an extra Bengal baby or two home with me... oops... I shouldn't have said that out loud.

pawprint With warmest of spotted bellies!
