10.12.04 There were a new batch of kittens showing this show, and there were a ton of them! The adults were great too, but just not as many as the kittens. I would like to comment about a couple of these kittens. Amantra Reigning Comets has got one of the best representation of what a doughnut centered rosette should look like. His head is pretty nice too! I told Janice if she felt she needed to give him away, I would be happy to take him off her hands. In the benching area, he liked to lay in the litter box. I once again offered to take the "trash" cat off her hands. She didn't go for it at all! Go figure. . . Another kitten with the most unusual spotting pattern is Silvergene Stunner. You need to see him to appreciate how beautiful he is. I hope we get to see him more often. The adults were represented by: Calcatta Sampson of Wildgold, owner - Canie Brooks; Wildvision Note Wurthy of Broadway, owner - Tim & Jennifer Allen; Wildvision Wurthagold of Koppiekatz, owner - Viki & Bruce Safley; Belara Ducati of Summermist, owner Sheila & John Fowler; Kutabays Bonnie Raitt, owner - Natalie Sullivan; Belair Bengals Tsunami, owner - Laryce & Jacques Vidal; BengalexoticFX Minimum Persuasion, owner - Randi Johnson; Camelottaspots Flaming Torch, owner - Arden Morley; Millwood Meela, owner - Jean Mill (adult on Sunday); Dreamland Revelation, owner - Annette Sanchez . . . Silvergene Firewire, owner - Linda Evans . . . Silver Spotted Division . . . Snow Star, owner - Michelle Lee . . . Seal Mink Marble Division . . . BengalexoticFX I'm Just a Kid, owner - Randi Johnson . . . Seal Spotted Division . . The rosettes went to (in no particular order or amounts): Wildvision Note Wurthy of Broadway, Wildvision Wurthagold of Koppiekatz, Calcutta Sampson of Wildgold, Belair Bengals Tsunami, Camelottaspots Flaming Torch, Dreamland Revelation of Marblerose, Joykatz Saiph of Desertstar, Silvergene Firewire and BengalexoticFX I'm Just a Kid. I would like to make a special mention to Calcatta Saffron Swirl of Goldcharm. She is a beautiful marble girl, who was up against big buff Saiph. She did get best of color, division and breed, but the judge didn't see fit to final any Bengal adults. The strange part was Diana and I were discussing about how we breeders tend to bring out the big boys and the little girls don't seem to do so well. Then as we were talking, the color ribbon was hung. We were stunned. Then the division, double stunned. Then breed, we were both ecstatic! I was so excited for Diana. I left yesterday before the final was called, so I didn't find out until this morning. Diana, Saffron was robbed! She is such a nice girl, and her day will come. Now for my Saiph and Calcutta brags. Saiph received one final, and I am so proud of him. He is my soul renewing boy, who loves to be held, kissed and mom handled. He purrs and makes biskets, and I am accused of spoiling him. Okay, I am guilty! I confess, I can't keep my hands off of him. Those emerald green eyes and soft sexy voice makes putty of me every time. His sweet daughter, Calcutta, what can I say. At home she looks so big, and at the show, she shrinks! Shirley and Kathy told me I was suppose to put the dryer on air fluff, not high heat (just kidding folks - she didn't go in the dryer!). No kidding about her shrinking though. I have my India kittens who are just under 8 weeks old, and next to them she is just huge. In the judging cages, she is just a tiny little girl. She got a few color placings where she wasn't dead last, and she behaved very well. She will come into her own when she grows a bit. My hat's off to all the breeders of these cats and kittens. They just keep getting better and better. We really put the judges through their paces at this show. I'm sure they will have night mares for weeks with all the kittens coming, and coming, and coming.
